This kitchen cooktop surround is built on a fabricated steel frame. Where the brick appear to be defying gravity,
they are actually firmly attached to steel, as explained here.
These are new, manufactured to appear used, brick.
The inside of this hood is now lined with stainless steel. The outside of the hood was shaped by corbeling the brick in. Corbeling is projecting a brick or course of
